Otis Crockron
Trustee
Executive Director, Athens County Children Services
Otis Crockron has served in his position at Athens County Children Services (ACCS) since December 1, 2020, guiding the agency out of the hardships of the pandemic and positioning the agency for continued success. Prior to leading ACCS, Otis served as Deputy Director of Finance and Operations, a position he assumed in 2008. His longstanding dedication to child welfare is deeply personal: in 2004, he and his wife, Ivy, became licensed foster/adoptive parents through ACCS, and that same year, they joyfully adopted their son and daughter. This experience has reinforced his commitment to the agency’s mission of protecting children, strengthening families, and securing futures.
Otis has dedicated more than 30 years to serving the Athens community in various capacities, including as Executive Pastor of Grace Christian Center, Group Home Supervisor for Sine-Cera, and Night Supervisor for Good Works Inc., a local homeless shelter. Additionally, he has lent his financial expertise to numerous organizations as CFO.
A strong advocate for community engagement, Otis has been a board member, treasurer, and audit committee chairperson for the Athens County Foundation since 2016. His leadership extends to his past roles as Vice President and President of the Ohio Job and Family Services Human Resources Association, where he collaborated with HR professionals statewide. Otis is also proud of his work on the dues and finance committees of the Public Children Services Association of Ohio, where he contributed insights to key initiatives.
Beyond his professional and community contributions, Otis is an accomplished musician and songwriter, performing for audiences across the United States.
